Based on the hit US reality show America's Next Top Model, this British and Irish version presented by Elle MacPherson follows the thirteen hopefuls through their journey to becoming Britain and Ireland's newest 'Top Model'. Expect tears and tantrums as each girl attempts to claw her way to the top, because, there can only be one Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model.
But I, for one, am very pleased that Lisa Snowdon took over as host in series 2, because as good as Butcher was, far more of the audience had heard of Snowdon beforehand, making the show more popular than the first series. The photography and money spent on the show could have been a lot better/more, but for what it was (i.e. a show to find a girl to win a modelling contract with Models1 management) it was a very good show. Obviously nothing will beat America's Next Top Model, as this was the original and with a much bigger budget, and a much more interesting, colourful and lovable panel of judges. Pus, of course, the amazing Tyra Banks. But credit where credit is due, we Brit's give it a good go! 8/10 Expect tears and tantrums as each girl attempts to claw her way to the top, because, there can only be one Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model. OK first of all, Lisa Butcher was a good choice for presenter during series 1 but did the audience really know who she was? No. Did they therefore value her opinion on who should stay and go? Not really, but that's not the point. She is a model whether we have heard of her or not and did a good job as presenter.
